The Balanced Flue version of the Gazco Studio gas fire is offered here with a choice of Edge installation kit allowing you to fit the fire without a trim or frame. Available in a choice of 3 sizes making it ideal for all room sizes, this stunning feature fire boasts incredible high efficiency and stunning flame visuals.
The Gazco Studio Edge+ gas fire provides a similarly frameless ‘hole-in-the-wall’ fire look as the Edge, and offers the benefit of a very simple finishing. This slim decorative frame, overlays the finished wall surface to provide a perfectly crisp finish around the installation opening.
Balanced flue Studios are high efficiency Glass Fronted fires and are completely sealed from the room they are installed in. Rather than using a conventional chimney, instead, a twin-walled pipe going from the fire to the exterior of the property draws in combustion air whilst also removing flue gases. Depending on which balanced flue kit is selected, the twin-wall pipe can exit horizontally through an outside wall or vertically through the roof.
The Glass Fronted Studio 1 Balanced Flue fire produces up to 5.30kW of heat at 92% efficiency, and is the smallest model in the Studio range. The Studio 2 has a higher heat output of 7kW whilst the largest model Studio 3 is ideal for larger rooms or open-plan living rooms and capable of providing up to a powerful 8.9kW of heat. Each fire can be styled to your tastes with a range of different interior linings that offer a dramatically different aesthetic for your fire.
The Balanced Flue Gazco Studio comes complete with a Programmable Thermostatic remote that also includes the additional benefits of a programmable timer and thermostatic controls, ensuring that whenever you return home, your house will always be warm and welcoming. Studio fires have an external battery which can be discretely and conveniently located up to 3 metres away from the fire. Alternatively you can choose the optional mains adaptor for an installation without batteries.
When you choose Gazco, quality and innovative technology are assured. From traditional models to contemporary designs, Gazco is committed to creating the ultimate flame-effect gas and electric fires. Their research and development laboratories are amongst the most advanced in the world, ensuring that the very latest innovations are incorporated into their appliances.
With a total appliance depth of 345mm (13½"), the standard Balanced Flue models will normally require a stud wall built to accommodate the appliance depth and balanced flue pipework. For those who do not want to build out into the room, Gazco also offer a 'Slimline' balanced flue Studio which features a shallower depth and suitable for installation into a standard external cavity wall.
With a wealth of design options complemented by a choice of sizes, linings and fuel bed effects, these beautifully contemporary fires will add instant style and presence to any modern interior. The information below will guide you though the wide selection of possibilities and styling options that are synonymous with the Studio range...

Balanced Flue Kits
You will need to select a Balanced Flue kit from the options listed on the drop-down menu. The type you choose will depend on your proposed installation. The most common option would be the Top Exit 'Up & Out' kit. This will attach to the top of the appliance, a short vertical run then a 90º bend connects to a horizontal run through the external wall exiting to a terminal attached to the outside wall. A terminal guard is required if the terminal is below 2m from the outside floor level (can be purchased as an optional extra).
The Top Exit Up & Out kits for the Gazco Studio Balanced Flue Gas Fire comprise of:
- Studio 1 Up & Out Kit: 1 x 200mm straight, 1 x 500mm terminal length, 1 x 90° bend
- Studio 2 Up & Out Kit: 1 x 200mm straight, 1 x 500mm straight, 1 x 500mm terminal length, 1 x 90° bend
- Studio 3 Up & Out Kit: 1 x 1000mm straight, 1 x 500mm terminal length, 1 x 90° bend
The other Balanced Flue Kit available for the Studio Balanced Flue is a 'Top Exit Vertical'. This comprises of 2 x 1000mm straight lengths and 1 x 1000mm terminal length. This would be used if the fire is to be fitted in a single storey room without the option of venting horizontally. The pipe exits the appliance at the top and runs vertically through the ceiling/roof.
Additional balanced flue components are available in a variety of lengths for unusual installations. With flue runs using additional vertical or horizontal runs, they must conform to manufacturers requirements as shown on page 12 of the installation instructions below.
