Do you offer finance on your fireplaces, stoves and fires?

You can apply for competitive finance over 24 months on all our products with a value of £375 or more. On a large selection of products we also offer 0% finance. If you are interested in finance, please contact us on sales@flames.co.uk with details of the product you are interested in including relevant options and we will send you a link to the application form. The online finance application process is extremely simple and takes just 5 minutes with no printing of paperwork.

Will my chimney need lining to have a gas fire?

In most cases, unless your chimney is leaking, you are not required to line your chimney to have a gas fire. Your CORGI installer will assess the condition of your flue prior to your installation. If, after assessment you require it lined, then the type of fire you have chosen determines the liner size you'll require.

Do you have a showroom where I can look at products before purchase?

Yes, we have been established since 2006 and have a showroom in Middleton, Manchester displaying a selection of Fireplaces, Wood Burning Stoves, Gas Fires and Electric Fires. Many items on display are showroom exclusive and won't be seen online. If you are considering visiting us to view a particular product, please call us first so we can advise whether it is a model we do have in the showroom.

Can I collect my order from the showroom and will it speed up my order?

We are happy for you to collect your goods from our showroom. Please call us once an order is placed so we can advise whether the products you have ordered are in stock. If they are not stock items, we will call you to advise when they arrive with us. To enable us to get goods ready for your collection, please always contact us prior to coming to collect you items.

Your website asks me to call for price on certain products - why is that?

Certain manufacturers have a strict policy on internet sales which means unfortunately, we are unable to display prices on their products. For competitive prices on any of these items please call or email us.

How do I work out the efficiency of a gas fire or gas stove?

Simply divide the maximum heat output by the maximum gas consumption (heat input).

Should I wait for goods to arrive before commencing any building work or booking an installation date with my fitter?

Firstly, and depending on the type of product you are considering purchasing, we would always recommend that you should have a survey carried out by a Gas Safe registered installer, HETAS installer or a qualified electrician. They will be able to check and certify the compatibility of your chimney, flue property and or your circumstances to avoid disappointment.

You should also wait until goods ordered have been delivered to you and in your possession to fully check for any damage or faults and to take accurate measurements from before proceeding to carry out any building work or create apertures in the wall to avoid costly mistakes being made, as manufacturers reserve the right to alter products or specifications without prior notice as required. This also applies to booking in fitters as, although extremely rare, unforeseen delays in delivery or products can arrived damaged.

Are products purchased from your website covered by the manufacturers guarantee?

Yes, we are a official supplier of all the products we sell. Unlike some, we never purchase from third party companies and order all goods direct from the manufacturers. We maintain a close relationship with all our suppliers and in the unlikely event of any fault occurring with your goods within the warranty period, we are happy to liaise directly with the manufacturers service departments on your behalf to rectify the issue quickly.
