For anyone looking for an imposing feature fireplace, the 56" Gallery Brompton mantel is definitely one to consider. Based on the 'Flat Victorian' design, this version of the popular Brompton is beautifully manufactured in natural Agean Limestone and will add grandeur to both traditional or modern interiors.
The simple, clean lines of the mantel result in it being an excellent accompaniment for the Gallery Crown cast iron insert as shown here as an optional extra. The Crown insert boasts a sweeping arch detail that provides a striking contrast against the straight lines of the mantel. Choose from matt black (ideal for solid fuel fires), highlighted with the arch section buffed to a satin silver finish or fully polished silver creating a more contemporary feel.
The optional Crown insert can be specified with your choice of gas or electric fire. These dedicated fires have been especially designed to fit into the tapered fire chamber area and provide a authentic alternative to a real fire. Alternatively, you may wish to combined the Gallery Brompton fireplace surround with most other cast inserts or other back panel types.
The gas fire features a coal effect fuel bed and a living flame which is almost indistinguishable from a real coal fire. You access the manual controls by moving the bottom ashpan cover allowing you to switch the fire on/off and adjust the flame height. No heat output is quoted on these types of fires and they are designed for use as a decorative feature in conjunction with your main source of heating.
The new PD2 electric fire option available for the Crown insert provide a glowing light effect set underneath an orange moulded plastic casing with coal pieces. Plug in to a standard 13 amp electricity supply to enjoy a cosy glow all year round without any heat using the remote control supplied. If heat is needed, there is also a model which in addition to having a light only setting, can also provide the room with up to 1800W of convected heat from a concealed fan unit.
A dedicated solid fuel kit is also offered with the Crown cast insert which is a popular option for anyone wanting to enjoy the ambience of a real, open fire that can burn both wood and solid fuels. It is always recommended that the matt black version of cast iron inserts are selected when wood/coal are to be burnt as the increased heat can tarnish polished products.
