The Flat Victorian mantelpiece offered here is manufactured in a choice of black Honed or Polished Granite. Whilst the mantel design has been around for 150 years, its simple design allows it to suit contemporary settings also. This mantel has a top shelf length of 1500mm (59″) or for those with a smaller chimney breast or wall space, there is also a version available with a top shelf length of 1350mm (approx 53″).
Cast Tec granite is sourced from the Shanxi region of China, and whilst it is more consistent than marble, it is still a natural material and can vary between dark grey and black in colouration. It really stand out in the room and will complement a vast array of inserts or you may wish to fit the surround around an inglenook chamber. It is shown in the images fitted with the Marquis Integra arched cast iron insert which has a beautiful full polish finish and the dedicated 'Ecoflame' Integra electric fire.
With a honed finish, the polishing process ends before buffing to create a matte or low-gloss sheen that lacks the highly reflective, mirror like look of polished granite. The softer honed finish is particularly popular among homeowners wanting an aged or casual look. A polished granite finish is created when the stone is buffed with the help of fine polishing pads, causing the surface to acquire a glossy, reflective appearance.
Due to the innovative design of the optional Integra inserts, this combination can be fitted on to a flat wall without and recess needed. You also have the opportunity to combine with any of the other Integra cast inserts and a wide array of gas fires boasting the very latest technology.
Unlike the majority of cast iron inserts which offer a gas fire that provides very little heat and poor efficiency, the Integra range have the ability of being able to be supplied with a large number of gas fires to suit all flue types and even for properties with no chimney or flue! They are all capable of providing a decent heat output whilst not compromising on looks.
The Integra Collection boasts a range of beautiful, practical and robust hearths to suit the Integra appliance of your choice. Suitable materials used for the hearths include honed or polished black granite, slate stone and limestone. Hearths come in three different styles:
Boxed & Lipped: These are traditional hearths with 20mm thickness and 30mm risers below.
Munro: These are more robust and contemporary having a 30mm thickness and 20mm risers below. Munro hearths are softer on the eye and to the touch having attractive rounded bullnose edges.
Solid Fuel: Hearths used for wood burning or solid fuel appliances are traditionally cut into four sections and fixed back together to allow for expansion. For use with Solid Fuel Integra, Cast Tec supply sturdy sectioned Munro hearths in honed or polished black granite.
