Straight from rural Italy, the Firenza is the essence of finding joy in the simple things in life. Built for a collective food experience, the Firenza reinvents al fresco time with family and friends.
The essence of al fresco family time, the Firenza Plancha BBQ Grill collection infuses elegance into the everyday, so you can make the most of the simple things in life. Find the size and finish that’s right for you!
The Firenza’s fire bowl is made from Nero black powder-coated steel. Its plinth base comes in either Nero black powder-coated steel or Corten steel depending on model. These materials are extremely resistant to corrosion.
With the optional grill and solid oak ring removed, and appropriate steps having been taken to protect the plancha plate, the Firenza can be left outdoors for extensive periods without weathering.
Once the Firenza Plancha BBQ Grill has been lit, it will take between 25 to 45 minutes, depending on the weather conditions and the temperature outside, for the cooking plate to reach around 300˚C on the inner edge and around 200˚C on the outer edge.
You can use a variety of wood types in your Firenza, but kiln-dried beech produces the best results. It burns down to a mass of embers that are easily spread around, and provide heat for an extended period. Ash wood has similar qualities. You can also use charcoal as fuel for your Firenza. However, charcoal might not reach the same temperatures as firewood.
The first few times you light your Firenza, it is recommended to use olive oil on the cook plate. Olive oil has a lower combustion point, which will help the cooking plate get a nice brown-black hue. After the first few uses, you can start using natural oil types like sunflower oil and groundnut oil, which have higher combustion points.
Between uses of the Firenza, leftover ashes should be removed from the fire bowl. Please note that the ashes will stay hot for a very long time after use; therefore, make sure to only store leftover ashes in fireproof containers until fully cooled. Once the ashes have fully cooled, they can be removed with a dustpan and brush and deposited into a regular waste bin. To clean your plancha plate, scrape off any residue with a spatula and wipe it down with cooking oil.
At 62cm tall the Firenza 600 is the perfect height for pulling up a stool to enjoy an al fresco dinner with family or friends. From making mid-week memories with the children, to wining and dining under the stars while they're in bed, the 600 offers perfect evenings in a compact package.
Tall, dark and handsome, the Firenza 1000 elevates al fresco cook-outs to all new heights. Whip up a seafood frenzy by flash-frying fillets of succulent sea bass at the centre of the plancha plate, while gently searing melt-in-the-mouth lobster tails around its edge.
Combining style with genuine convenience, the Firenza 1000W features a handy integrated log store. Keep fuel dry within arm’s reach as you cook up a storm!
Looking to give your garden a rustic look? With its Corten steel base, the Firenza 1000CW could be just what you've been searching for. Instead of rusting, Corten steel develops an outer oxide layer that protects against corrosion, while offering an enticing patina aesthetic.
The Firenza’s grill attachment offers tantalising cooking options. Chargrill delicious vegetables, toast fresh ciabatta, or flame-grill a juicy steak for flavours that only come from cooking over live fire!
Optional Solid Oak Ring
The solid oak ring is a stunning accessory that transforms your Firenza into a social dining space. Gather your friends to cook, eat and drink together, sat around the fire!
Protect your plancha plate from the elements with ease with one of the optional rainproof covers. Dragonfly recommend storing both the solid oak rings and grill attachments indoors when not in use. However, Large Wooden Ring Covers are also available, which accommodate the rings and are suitable for shorter periods and moderate climates.
Circumferent Air Flow
Featuring an elevated plancha plate, the Firenza’s innovative design results in an optimised air current around its circumference. Combustion air is drawn in from beneath the plate, right to the flames!
Concave Plancha Plate
The 10mm plancha plate is precision-pressed to be subtly concave, helping to channel any excess fats into your fire bowl.
Important information: The protective layer of corrosion on Corten bases of the Firenza will only be partially developed upon delivery. During the first 3-6 months, while this protective layer finishes developing, Corten corrosion may leave stains on skin, clothing, and surfaces. In cases where the Firenza is set up on wooden or composite decking, Dragonfly suggest covering the surface with a non-combustible material.
Note that all steel surfaces of the Firenza – particularly the plancha plate and fire bowl – become extremely hot during operation. Additionally, the optional solid oak rings are designed for dining and light food preparation; they are not built to bear loads exceeding 7.5kg. Please take additional care in the presence of children and pets.
