The Portway 3 Contemporary wood burning and multifuel stove will provide you with warmth like no other energy source. Every burn period produces long lasting radiant heat that will maintain your comfort levels whilst returning high efficiency with low emissions when burning natural and renewable fuels. This powerful stove can easily burn for ten hours or more in a single filling of natural anthracite or other suitable fuel. This means you burn less fuel to get more heat compared to similar products on the market.
Portway’s R&D team has invested in developing and refining technology to meet the key objective of producing stoves that not only save energy but, as a result, keep running costs down. As with all of their stoves, the 3 Contemporary carries a Class A rating with energy efficiencies of up to 76.3%. To achieve the cleanest burn time with maximum efficiency performance, Portway recommend burning natural hard wood logs, and manufactured approved smokeless fuels. Portway stoves can also burn a wide range of other fuels including anthracite, peat briquettes, and other mineral fuels.
The Portway 3 Contemporary is a superb choice for those requiring plenty of heat. With a nominal rating of 9kW, this mighty appliance is ideally suited to larger rooms, open plan living areas or older properties with poor insulation. The large steel body and cast iron door is the ideal construction for distributing heat into the room quicker and an air tight combustion. Simple to use air controls make it easy to adjust to your ideal burn rate.
Optional output reducer bricks reduce the internal volume of the stove, allowing less room for fuel and subsequently reducing the heat output. These are perfect if you prefer the look of a larger stove but don’t require a large heat output.
Even if you're located within a smoke controlled area, the Portway 3 Contemporary can be used to burn wood (or smokeless fuels) as it is classed as a 'Smoke Exempt Appliance' by DEFRA. Top or rear (interchangeable) 6" flue outlet.
