The slimline design of this Avalon model means you don’t need to compromise on performance because of space issues. Plus, with a low CO emission of 0.25%, the Avalon 8 Slimline not only looks the part, but is also environmentally friendly. What’s not to love? With a size normally associated with much more powerful stoves, this stylish wood or multi-fuel stove will make a stunning impact whilst retaining a heat output best suited to standard sized rooms.
Choose from a dedicated wood burning model or for those who also want the option of burning solid fuels, a multi-fuel version is also available. Both models are smoke exempt appliances and therefore can be used to burn wood (or smokeless fuels on the multi-fuel model) in smokeless areas. Avalon's Tripleburn® technology aids efficiency and performance with three streams of air causing an incredibly efficient burning of the fuel, which results in an increased heat output, less smoke and a cleaner environment.
Due to its nominal heat output rating of 4.9kW, the Avalon 8 Slimline has an ideal output rating for standard sized rooms and benefits from not normally require an air vent in the room. However, fully loaded and with the air control set full, it is capable of providing up to an impressive 8.0kW - more than adequate to keep you toasty on cold evenings! It can also accommodate large logs up to 500mm (19½") in length.
Nominal output is a reasonable heat output that should be achievable without over-firing the unit. Under specific test conditions, the independent test laboratory operates the stove at less-than-optimum conditions to replicate customer use.
For improved wood burning on the multi-fuel model, Tripleburn® technology improves the ignition of the fuel, with a jet of air directed into the heart of the fire. When the grate is in the closed position, it creates a flat base and allows a deep bed of ash to build up – these are the optimum conditions for burning wood.
When burning smokeless fuel, the grate is moved to the open position by a single turn of the handle. Primary air is then directed under the open grate and into the heart of the fire, ensuring a clean, efficient burn.Tertiary air re-ignites the un-burnt gases to ensure a cleaner burn.
From wood to multi-fuel with a single movement - The integral grate in the Avalon Slimline 8 Multi-Fuel Stove can be changed from the wood setting to a multi-fuel setting with the cold-handled riddling tool. The cold-handled riddling tool can be used for opening and closing the doors, riddling the grate, grate adjustment and easy removal of the ash pan. By simply moving the riddling tool backwards and forwards, the stove riddles safely with minimum effort. This is undertaken with the doors closed and is completely dust-free.
Premium construction using steel for the body to ensure an air tight combustion with robust cast iron for the door. No need to scrub the glass thanks to the innovative Airwash system - Hot Airwash Technology does the work for you. A ‘Secondary Air’ wash maintains a stream of air between fuel and door, reducing the build-up of carbon deposits on the glass.
The internal lining system on the Avalon 8 Slimline maximises the firebox temperature, ensuring complete combustion. This popular, single-sided free standing stove can be flued from either the top or the rear of the stove. An optional Flue Damper is available which allows a greater controllability on the flue draw (if necessary).
