Eko flueless gas fires including the 5050 model can generally can be mounted onto almost any flat surface. There must be a minimum of 100mm clearance to the sides of the fire. Clearance to ceilings must be 800mm, clearance in front must be 500mm and clearance to solid floor level must be 60mm. The Eko 5050 is a hang-on-the-wall appliance in landscape format that is supplied with a choice of seven frame colours. It will take centre stage in either classical or contemporary settings and is a popular fire for fitting in living rooms, dining rooms, offices, kitchens and conservatories.
Incorporating the latest in gas fire technology and not needing a chimney or flue to operate. The combustion gases pass through a catalytic converter system, positioned at the top of the appliance, which converts carbon monoxide into harmless carbon dioxide and water vapour, levels of which are so low they are typically present in fresh air. In fact, the catalytic converter works so effectively that it can actually help to clean the air by neutralising airborne particles and odours, therefore helping to reduce household allergies.
To conform to regulations, the Eko 5050 needs to be fitted in a room no smaller than 23m³ (length x width x height) and a 100cm² air vent. It is capable of providing up to 2kW of heat when on its maximum setting and produces a mesmerising strip of flames set behind a glass panel. Operation of the fire is taken care of using the discreet manual control located at the bottom side of the fire.
